Cotton Trial: 1 Additional Bale Of Cotton Per HA Above The Control

Information

All treatments had 130kg MAP and 230 kgs of Nitrogen per HA applied as urea throughout the growing season. All treatments also had 10L/HA Microsoil as foliar during squaring. The Control had no liquid fertiliser at planting. The addition of Microsoil yielded an extra bale of cotton per HA above the Control. This is a significant result given the overall high yield of the Control at 11.2 bales per HA. Cotton Trial conducted by: MW Agricultural Consulting.

Cotton Trial Narromine

A replicated cotton trial conducted by MW Agricultural Consulting in Narromine, NSW, evaluated the impact of Microsoil as a foliar treatment during squaring, comparing its performance against standard fertilisation programs. All treatments in the trial received 130kg MAP and 230kg nitrogen per hectare, applied as urea throughout the growing season. However, while the control treatment had no liquid fertiliser at planting, the test plots received 10L/ha of Microsoil foliar application at the squaring stage.

The results demonstrated a significant yield improvement, with Microsoil-treated cotton producing an additional bale per hectare compared to the control. Given that the control already achieved 11.22 bales per hectare, this represents a notable increase in cotton yield under high-performing conditions.

  • Control Yield: 11.22 bales/ha
  • Microsoil-Treated Yield: 12.27 bales/ha
  • Gross Margin Improvement: $2,925/ha for Microsoil vs. $2,400/ha for Control

The data highlights Microsoil’s ability to enhance nutrient efficiency and boost cotton productivity by providing essential biological stimulants and micronutrients at a critical growth stage. The increase in yield and gross margin demonstrates a strong ROI, making Microsoil an effective and profitable addition to cotton nutrition programs.

For growers looking to maximise cotton yields and optimise input efficiency, Microsoil’s targeted application strategy offers a proven, cost-effective solution.
