GSR Calcium: Electrically Available Calcium for Salinity & Soil
Information
A series of trials across eight farms in a variety of horticultural crops was conducted to analyse the ability of GSR Dormant Calcium to remediate soil compaction and deepen the aerobic zone of soils. Aerobic zone depth data were collected using a penetrometer measuring the aerobic zone depth to 300psi. Data were collected before and after the application of GSR Dormant Calcium. A total of 36 measurements were recorded approximately one month apart. The results showed an outstanding increase in the aerobic zone and subsequent potential for increased water penetration and enhanced microbial and nutrient cycling ability. GSR Dormant Calcium Trials: Improving Soil Aeration & Compaction
A series of trials across eight farms was conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of GSR Dormant Calcium in remediating soil compaction and deepening the aerobic zone in a variety of horticultural crops. The goal was to determine whether this product could improve soil structure, water penetration, and microbial activity, ultimately enhancing crop productivity.
To measure changes in the aerobic zone depth, a penetrometer was used to record soil resistance up to 300 psi. Baseline data were collected before applying GSR Dormant Calcium, and a second set of measurements was taken one month later. In total, 36 measurements were recorded, allowing for a comprehensive comparison of soil conditions before and after treatment.
The results showed an outstanding increase in the aerobic zone, indicating a significant reduction in soil compaction. This improvement suggests greater water infiltration, better root development, and enhanced microbial and nutrient cycling, all of which are critical for healthy, high-yielding crops.
These findings highlight the potential of GSR Dormant Calcium as a powerful soil management tool, offering a natural and effective solution for improving soil aeration and overall farm productivity. Trial conducted by: Maxi Yield South Africa.
