Manure And Compost Efficiency Microsoil Significantly Improves
Information
This demonstration trial looked at the benefits of applying Microsoil’s nutrient, biology and plant stimulants over applications of commonly used manures and composts. The addition of Microsoil had a significant impact on compost efficiency and yield, particularly when applied over the chicken manure. The biology within Microsoil’s products has made key nutrients and trace minerals more available to the plant, increasing yield accordingly. While conducted on a cereal crop to gauge yield increases, the trial also highlights the benefits that Microsoil can deliver to pastures. Trial conducted by: AT Rural Consulting.

Manure & Compost Efficiency
A demonstration trial conducted by AT Rural Consulting assessed the impact of Microsoil’s nutrient, biology, and plant stimulants compared to traditional manure and compost applications. The goal was to determine if Microsoil could enhance nutrient availability and boost crop performance in a cereal crop system, with implications for pasture productivity as well.
The trial compared different treatments, including 40kg MAP + 40kg UREA combined with Nitro Humus or chicken manure, with and without Microsoil. The results were highly significant:
- Chicken manure alone produced a 4.16 t/ha yield, but when combined with Microsoil, yield increased to 5.57 t/ha—a gain of 1.41 t/ha.
- Nitro Humus + Microsoil also outperformed the control, increasing yield from 2.85 t/ha to 3.4 t/ha.
- The greatest gross margin improvement came from the Chicken Manure + Microsoil combination, achieving $1,142/ha compared to $853/ha with chicken manure alone.
These results demonstrate that Microsoil’s biological stimulants improve nutrient uptake, making key trace minerals more available to plants, leading to higher yields and stronger crop performance. The trial also highlights Microsoil’s potential benefits for pastures, offering a cost-effective solution for improving soil fertility and productivity beyond cereal crops.
For farmers looking to maximise nutrient efficiency, increase yields, and improve ROI, Microsoil provides a proven, science-backed approach to sustainable crop and pasture management.
