Microsoil Reduced Upfront Costs And Increased Yield And Margin

Information

Half of the Microsoil product was applied at sowing and the balance, late tiller. Reducing upfront costs, e,g 35kg MAP in lieu of 100kg MAP per HA, and chasing yield later in the season depending on the chance of a strong or weak finish to the season is a key feature of Microsoil’s principle. This extensive trial replicated 42 products from 16 companies. Microsoil showed a half-tonne yield increase over the trial Control of 70kg MAP and was a top performer in terms of ROI gave Microsoil halved the MAP rate to 35kg in its plots. Microsoil Wheat Trial

A replicated wheat trial conducted by Delta Agribusiness tested 42 products from 16 companies, evaluating yield performance and return on investment (ROI). Microsoil’s innovative nutrient strategy demonstrated superior results while significantly reducing upfront fertiliser costs.

In the trial, Microsoil was applied in two stages, with half at sowing and the remainder at late tiller. This flexible approach allowed growers to reduce upfront input costs—applying just 35kg of MAP per hectare instead of 70kg—while strategically targeting yield gains later in the season based on seasonal conditions.

The results were impressive:

  • 35kg MAP + Microsoil + Trace Minerals delivered a 3.57 t/ha yield, outperforming the control (70kg MAP) at 3.27 t/ha.
  • 35kg MAP + Microsoil alone achieved an even greater 3.76 t/ha yield, making it a top performer in terms of ROI.
  • Despite halving the MAP rate, Microsoil increased yield by half a tonne per hectare over the control, demonstrating its effectiveness in nutrient efficiency and soil health improvement.

By leveraging Microsoil’s nutrient management approach, farmers can optimise yield potential while reducing upfront fertiliser costs. The trial results highlight Microsoil’s ability to improve soil efficiency, enhance crop performance, and provide a flexible approach to maximising returns in variable seasonal conditions.
